Our Firm

Practicing law on The Milldam in Concord Center is a tradition of the McWalter Law Office, starting with Maurice, Sr. in 1911. From grandfather to son to grandson, the tradition continues as the McWalter Law Office surpasses its 100th anniversary.

McWalter Attorney SignIn his early years, Maurice, Sr. worked as a custom bootmaker by day and reserved time daily for the practice of law during the "Hours 7:30 to 9 P.M." (a sign still hanging in the office today). As office hours expanded, more family members joined the firm. Maurice (Judge McWalter) joined his father in the one room law office. Mary McWalter Derby, who administered to the secretarial end of the business, ran the office from 1938 until her retirement in 1982. Maurice was appointed Assistant District Attorney for Middlesex County and was later appointed by Governor Bradford as a Judge of the Concord District Court. Maurice, Jr. (Mac) entered the firm as a law clerk until he became a member of the Bar and then joined as an associate.

The law firm has changed over the past 100 years, but Mac’s partners, Mel Barron, Larry Boisvert, Randy Barron, Erin Boisvert and Kim Sweet, continue the tradition of solid, professional legal services with an energetic staff of lawyers and legal assistants. Together, they serve the public in all areas of the law.

We invite you to visit us at our office located just off Monument Square in Historic Concord Center (behind Town Hall). We plan to be here for the next 100 years!
